Renaissance

The Renaissance was a period in European history marking the transition from the middle ages to modernity and covering the 15th and16th centuries.

Mechanical Clock

The mechanical renaissance clock is perhaps one of the most important inventions during this time period. Before this, time was kept via sundials, which are actually quite accurate within a minute or so. Of course, the use of sundials is dependent upon the sun shining, making it impossible to tell time on overcast days or at night. In the Mid- and the Far East, the water clocks were quite popular, and worked on a concept of water displacement, with a particular amount of displaced water indicating a specific amount of time. These water clocks eventually found their way to Europe, where they were used until the end of the 13th century. Though accurate, these elaborate mechanisms were often very cumbersome and required that an individual constantly monitor the mechanism day and night.

The clock is made up of gears. Also, one thing followed another is Leonardo‘s mechanical robot.

The main emphasis of humanism was secular education using Greek and Latin classics, many newly rediscovered. The study of humanity must be hard at the beginning of the renaissance period. This is a combination of a mechanical clock and a security device by the password.

This is a mechanical clock that is inspirited by Leonardo‘s mechanical robot. There is a mechanical horse, and a normal clock. The first one, like a gear wheel lock.

This is a traditional clock here but it has a ‘strongbox’. And this one has a dial clock like the tellurian. One more problem is about the coded lock. Nowadays we always use the coding keyboard. However, there is no typewriter around the renaissance time. The gear is used again. I found a clock that has already used a different number system to mark the time on the clock.

Activity 1 Come up with 5 “What if?” questions

1.what if someone sells the story to the gutter press

2.what if I was sweeping a chimney

3.what if grandfather should hear about it

4.what if it rains when we can not get under shelter

5.what if he turned his back now and disappeared my studiously

6.what if I owned a shop selling flowers in rain forest

7.Can I dine what if I ate a glowworm

Activity 2 ” Inspiration’ images

Finally, I chose the No.4 and No.6 gathered to do what-if animals are in danger when they can not get under shelter in the rain forest. Hope there is a ‘maybe flower shop ? ‘or something else that can be a shelter for the animals to evading predators. In the rain forest has less trodden by the foot of man. So a flower shop here is somewhat abrupt. Human is an intruder can be more reasonable. There is a snail house to help animals to cover to hide from their natural enemies. Also, all the animals covered back to the snail house to protect it.

It seems completely divorced from reality which is so difficult for me to model them in a few weeks.
